Padlock gives you the possibility of keeping your passwords safe in a secure database. The application's streamlined design is its key feature. You can save passwords or any other pieces of information in just a few seconds, without any effort.

The software is absolutely free and it is available for all major operating systems and for mobile devices. It comes in a small package and its core components can be installed in just a few seconds. Even if you pair Padlock with your mobile device, you won't have to make any kind of advanced settings.

When you launch Padlock for the first time, you will have to create a master password, which you have to remember no matter what, because it can't be recovered if you forget it. Once you have a password, the main interface will be unlocked, revealing its few, but powerful controls. You may create your first entry right away, by simply filling in a series of input fields.

Besides specifying usernames and passwords, you can also create your own custom fields, to insert any information you want. It is even possible to modify the existing username and password fields, if you want to add something other than login credentials. If you intend to save a password, you can use the software's built-in password generator, to create long and complex strings. Given that you only need to remember your Padlock password, all other passwords can be as long and hard as you want.

Created entries are listed on the left side of the user interface, along with all default and custom fields. The contents of the fields are not displayed, unless you click the entry, to reveal everything on the right side of the window. However, you don't even need to reveal anything. Simply clicking one of the fields, beneath an entry, will copy its contents to the clipboard, without showing anything on the screen.

Another feature that is definitely worth mentioning is the possibility of pairing the software with its mobile counterpart. If you install Padlock on a mobile device, you can log into the same account and manage your passwords on the go. Furthermore, the software is capable of synchronizing everything with an online storage server, so you can have backup copies of your database entries.
